Omega European Masters - The Wrap

Victory for Sweden's Alex Noren

Sweden's Alex Noren beat Australian Scott Hend on Sunday in a dramatic play off to take the €2.7 million winner’s cheque.

Noren posted a final round of 65 to tie the scores on 17 under with Hend.

Noren was five under on the final day, and Hend shot four under to force a play-off. Noren putted superbly all weekend, and had seven birdie putts in his final round, with four in a row on the front nine.

They both finished on play 17 under, and then had a play off on the 18th.

Noren then sank a tricky long putt on the play-off hole, while Hend laid up short of the flag.

Meanwhile Beef had a final round of 65 to finish 14 under, which left him in third position, and Lee Westwood carded a brilliant 63 to finish on 12 under. His round included seven birdies, and not a single dropped shot. His recent form is auguring very well for the Ryder Cup…..
