Legalise Marijauna Campaign

Comes to the Waste Management Phoenix Open

The legalise marijuana campaign in Arizona is unveiling a billboard to coincide with the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which kicks off on Thursday.

The billboard features a man and woman leaning back on the grass (the stuff that you mow not smoke), with the man's eyes nearly closed.

The message: "If beer and golf make for the greatest party on grass ... Why can't adults enjoy a safer party on grass?"

The golf tournament is famed for its raucous atmosphere, and has been referred to by the Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau as “The Greatest and Greenest Party on Grass.”

The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol said the billboard, at the southwest corner of Seventh and Lincoln streets in Phoenix, will stay up until the tournament ends.

The campaign wants to create a legalized pot system similar to Colorado's. Arizona's effort, if approved, would allow adults to possess, grow and buy the drug, which would be taxed, under a Department of Marijuana Licenses and Control.

We think if everyone was smoking weed, there would be a rather different atmosphere. The 16th might never be the same again.
