Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

Launches division ambassador programme to grow the game

Hurricane Junior Golf Tour has announced new division ambassadors – Tiger Woods, Justin Timberlake, Justin Rose, Will Smith and Ernie Els – each representing a different division within the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour as it furthers its mission to grow the game of golf amongst juniors.

Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s largest age divisions will now include: the Tiger Woods Division (Boys 16-18), the Will Smith Division (Boys 14-15), the Ernie Els Division (Boys 11-13), the Justin Timberlake Division (Girls 14-18) and the Justin Rose Division (Girls Under 13).

Within each division, two champions will be crowned each year; Player of the Year, awarded to the player that accumulates the most points throughout the season within their division, and also the winner of the Hurricane World Championship, hosted in Orlando in August. These two winners within each division will be invited to sit down together with their respective ambassador for a 30-minute sit-down. The winners will be flown to a city of the ambassador’s choice for their meeting.

“Growing the game of golf is good for everyone, and if we can inspire these kids to chase their goals – even better,” said Justin Rose.

“These ambassadors clearly bring a stronger brand awareness to junior golf and they drive excitement across our junior golfers while also inspiring them to work even harder toward achieving their goals,” said Mario Conte, founder and executive director of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. “To know that you can earn a face-to-face sit-down with one of Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s ambassadors is very unique and unprecedented in junior golf today.”

“This is a wonderful initiative and as ambassadors, we’re proud to get behind Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in its mission to grow the game,” said Ernie Els. “All of us have great memories of our junior golf days, and we all remember the people that inspired us and helped us on our way. Through this program, it’ll be fun for us to play our part in inspiring and encouraging these kids as they chase their own golfing dreams.”

Earlier this year, Nexus Luxury Collection partnered with the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, acquiring a stake in the grass roots golf tour.

Founded in 2007 by Mario Conte, the Hurricane Tour has become the largest junior golf tour in the United States, hosting over 275 tournaments each year across 32 different states. To date, more than 30,000 boys and girls have competed in a Hurricane Tour event and over 3,500 golfers have made it to the collegiate golf ranks since its inception.

We think this is a fantastic initiative. We need one here now.
