Danny Willett will play in The Masters next week

He’s become a dad 10 days early

Danny Willett will play in next week’s Masters after becoming a father 10 days ahead of the due date.

He had committed to being by his wife Nicole’s side for the birth even if it meant missing The Masters. But baby Zacharia arrived conveniently ahead of schedule and so Willett will be able to play in what will be his third Masters.

This is what Danny tweeted:

American Kevin Streelman is also still awaiting developments over the arrival of his second child, which is actually due on Masters Saturday.

“My family is more important than any silly thing we do on grass,” said Streelman.

This year's Masters will have the smallest field in 14 years, with only 89 players due to fight for the Green Jacket.

Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk are both injured, Jose Maria Olazabal has rheumatism, and Sang-moon Bae is doing his military service.

Why not take our Masters quiz and get in the mood for next week.
