Brittany Lincicome beats Lexi Thompson

In play off at Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic

Brittany Lincicome has beaten Lexi Thompson with a birdie on the first extra playoff hole at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic for her seventh career win on the LPGA Tour.

The win is her first victory on Tour since the 2015 ANA Inspiration, and is the 11th play off of Lincicome's career, of which she has won three.

Brittany posted a final round of five–under par, 68 to finish the week at 26-under par.

Thompson carded a final round of three–under par, to tie with Lincicome. But Lexi failed to get up and down from behind the green for birdie to extend the playoff.

Not that Lexi was down–hearted with the result.

“This whole off‑season, I swear I putted two and a half hours each day, it seemed like,” Thompson said. “I was just doing nonstop putting drills just trying too get my confidence up, and it showed here.  It's paying off.  I'm going to keep working extremely hard and stay confident with it.”

Go Lexi!
