Ben Crenshaw sells up

And you get the putting green as well - for $6.2 million

Ben Crenshaw is selling his mansion in Austin, Texas, for $6.2 million. You’ll get 7,236 square feet and an acre of peace and quiet. And you’ll also get your own putting green.

The house dates back to 1966, which in US terms makes it almost historic. You’ll also get built in trophy cases, which is handy if you’ve got a lot of silverware to display, but less so if you are a mere mortal.

Ben and his wife Julie have been there since 1988, but maybe they’re thinking of downsizing.

We like the idea of buying Crenshaw’s putting green, but only if it comes with some free lessons. Crenshaw is famed for his putting, and considered by many to have been one of the best ever.

It was only last year that Crenshaw, now 64, said farewell to Augusta for the last time. He won two green jackets, and played in a total of 44 Masters.
