A Real life Glove Story

Wedding ring found in golf glove

What's the worst thing you could manage to do on Valentines Day? We reckon losing a wedding ring is right up there, and that's what Chris Castro managed to do. Worst of all it was while his lovely wife let him go and look at the golf stuff  in the sports store.

“I tried some golf gloves on,” he said.

But later that night, he realised something was up. "I noticed my wedding ring  ring had gone." How do you explain that to the wife?

He tried the store, but there was no sign of it, and he went back again and again.

Three weeks had passed when Jeff Geyer popped into Dick's Sporting Goods to try out some golf gloves.

“I put on a golf glove and my finger got jammed…I pull it out and there’s a wedding ring and I’m like, there’s a man down, we’ve got to help him."

Straightaway he a told the store staff, but he also posted it on Facebook, where mutual friends managed to put Jeff and Chris together.

As a man who loses stuff regularly, I absolutely glove (Really?-Ed), it brought joy to my heart, that a fellow golfer would help a man in his hour of need. Camaraderie between golfers is one of the things that makes the game great.

“We are going to play golf now,” Geyer said.

“I do owe this man a round of golf,” Castro was quick to reply.

We love this US news report on the story. Especially the Ron Burgundy news team assemble opening montage...
