To expand golf participation and inspire Millennials

Mobile golf technology startup 18Birdies has announced a multi-year partnership with Wesley Bryan, the 2017 RBC Heritage champion and 2016 Web.com Player of the Year.

Mobile golf technology startup 18Birdies has announced a multi-year partnership with Wesley Bryan, the 2017 RBC Heritage champion and 2016 Web.com Player of the Year.

Bryan, who rose to golf fame with his trick shot prowess on YouTube, has now completed an impressive rookie season on the PGA TOUR. He joins fellow PGA TOUR professionals Harold Varner III and Willy Wilcox, as well as professional golfer and social media star, Paige Spiranac, as ambassadors of 18Birdies’ mission to expand golf participation and inspire positivity on the course.

“18Birdies is the first and only mobile app to capture the joy of the game” says Bryan.

“They have created and connected a community where all golfers, no matter their skill level or experience, have a fun, positive, and fulfilling experience every time they play.”

During the multi-year partnership, Wesley will be featured as an 18Birdies ambassador by wearing the brand logo on his apparel, using the app to post "Live Rounds" as well as other exclusive content in the app's golf focused social feed and making special personal appearances.

“In addition to being an extremely talented golfer, Wesley’s unique imagination on the course and how he plays the game with a smile on his face really appealed to us,” said 18Birdies Founder and CEO Eddy Lui. “Through many of our one-of-a-kind features, like live rounds, our nearly 800,000 app users will be able to connect and engage directly with Wesley as he embarks upon his sophomore season on the Tour.”

In addition to his win in South Carolina in April, Bryan achieved five top-10 finishes during the 2016-17 TOUR season, including the Genesis Open and John Deere Classic and was a finalist for this year’s PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Award.

Since its launch in 2016, 18Birdies has been the fastest growing golf app among competitors and has added more golfers than any other golf app since its inception, currently sitting at over 750,000 users. In addition, DreamGames, the brand’s first-of-its-kind loyalty program, which launched in May 2017, has been a big hit with Millennials, who represent 67 percent of overall participants and 73 percent of all repeat participants.
