Hi it’s Maria here and today we are going to do push ups using the small ball. Push ups are great for golfers because you really work the chest.

When you are stronger in the chest it helps you keep your arms close to your body, so when you hold the club it’s always going to be in front of you so you won’t take the club away too wide. This helps make your swing more compact and repeatable.

 

1) First we are going to do a normal push up. Hands should be shoulder width apart and toes about six inches apart. If you can do 10 that’s good, if you can’t do 10 the drop onto your knees so you are still working a normal push up.

 

2) If you can do push ups with your legs straight you can also do them with a ball, so have one hand on the ball and the other on the floor and just change the ball to the other hand after three push ups. 

 

4) Keep breathing and make sure you tense your core. It’s really hard so maybe start with five and go to ten. Enjoy!
