Top Tips for the Zurich Classic

The Spiv has some great value this week

Well, it was a successful week for the Spiv as Charley Hoffman finally put his Sunday woes behind him to win the Valero Open. 30/1 remember, Kerching. The tour now moves to Louisiana for the Zurich Classic and this time, some of the bigger boys will be there. Justin Rose will be aiming to repeat his victory from last year. World number Two, Jason Day, will be there as will Rickie Fowler. These guys will start as hot favourites and it shows. Their odds are low, really low. Day starts as the favourite at 5/1 with Rose on 8/1 and Fowler’s best odds are at 12/1. But if we have learned anything from the past few weeks it is that being the favourite doesn’t guarantee victory. There are plenty who can win this one.

Billy Horschel 22/1 (PaddyPower)

Horschel is in fine form at the moment. 17th at the Masters and 4th at the Valero last week. He is looking good. He also loves it here. He won the event back in 2013 and has had three top fives in his last five on this course. Missed the cut last year but don’t worry, he is playing a lot better in 2016.

Daniel Berger 28/1 (888)

Berger has been playing well recently. T-11 at the Valspar, T-5 at Houston and T-10 at the Masters. Not bad indeed. This is stronger form than most of the others in the field. In his debut here last year, he finished T-6th. Young, confident and with the ability to match. Don’t be surprised if he contends again this year.

Chris Kirk 50/1 (888)

Kirk can go from the sublime to the ridiculous. This is why his odds are so high. Four cuts this year does not make good reading but since the Arnold Palmer, he has been playing well. Four top 25’s since the Valspar and finished in a tie for 13th last week. This one could be a dark horse.

Charles Howell III 60/1 (BetVictor)

Four top tens this season for Chucky three sticks. Tied 5th at the Valspar and T-7 at Houston. He is knocking on the door of a win that’s for sure. Would be great to see it. In a season of surprises having him on your bet slip might pay a good Each Way. At these odds, I’ll have him.

Jamie Donaldson 100/1 (William Hill)

Since his chainsaw accident, it appears the Welshman is back on fine form. Three top 25’s, looked good at the Masters, 19th in Houston. One thing is for sure, here is a player that can turn it around. 100/1 seem extremely high for a top player like Jamie. Best take advantage of odds like that.
