Woman Goes On Buggy Joy Ride

Takes her dog along for a spin

Police are searching for a golf joyrider, who took a golf buggy late at night to give her pooch a spin. Now we always thought you were meant to walk your dog.

CCTV footage shows the woman taking her dog for a ride late at night at Willingdon Golf Club in Eastbourne, East Sussex. She took the buggy at 10.35 pm November 15th. A man was believed to be with her too, and the managed to cause significant damage to the course, and around £1000 of damage to one of the buggies.

PC James Gillies said, “This is rather a strange case, not least because of taking the dog for a spin, but also because the buggies were driven back to the container about 90 minutes later - and then plugged back in to charge up!

“It appears that a key to the container may have been stolen unnoticed from the club prior to Sunday night, but the locks have now been changed and we would like to hear from anyone who recognises the woman and her dog or who has information about the incident. Please email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 497 of 16/11.

Now we can’t condone the damage, but at least they plugged them back in ready for the members the next morning. Do you recognise the pooch or the woman? We need a driver for the golf kart race we’re planning…
