John Daly hurls putter into lake... again

He must have really hated that putter. After withdrawing from last week's Allianz Championship final round, JD apparently dispensed with the putter's services by despatching it into a greenside lake at the 7th hole.

The event was taking place at The Old Course at Broken Sound.

According to a Links Magazine report, Daly said he was having trouble with a nerve issue in his back. He promptly bolted without troubling the media centre. 

He'd made the cut after rounds of 71 & 75 but three bogeys in his first seven holes was not what the doctor ordered. So he quit. And threw his putter in the lake. 

That's the story. It really is that simple. And here's a picture of his submerged flat-stick, superstroke grip gasping for air...
