GOLF FOUNDATION'S "PLAY IN MAY' CAMPAIGN TEES OFF

UK GOLFERS COULD WIN PRO-AM SPOT AT THE BMW AT WENTWORTH

The Golf Foundation’s new "Play In May" campaign teed  off today (May 1), with every golfer in GB&I being asked to support ‘Unleash Your Drive in Schools’ via a special competition.
Thanks to the DP World Tour and Wentworth Club, the Golf Foundation are offering every UK golfer the chance to sign up and play, for the chance to play in September's BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am at Wentworth. There are 40 places on offer in the "Unleash Your Drive Final" at Wentworth Club in August; with the winning three players earning a place in September's Pro-Am.
The #PlayInMay support (a £5 donation must accompany every round played) will assist the Golf Foundation in extending the reach of "Unleash Your Drive" to every school in the UK. This initiative, five years in the making, is already driving encouraging results since its launch September launch, with more than 500 schools involved to this point. Early results have indicated a significant increase in mental resilience among participating pupils
While the Golf Foundation charity already enjoys support from core funders and the Home Nations, President Nick Dougherty explained that "Unleash Your Drive in Schools" is a highly ambitious undertaking in terms of scale, and thus the charity needs a little support from all golfers. He encourages every golfer in the UK to to get involved and celebrate our wonderful game by getting out to play in May.

Come May's end, the top 30 players on the leaderboard will qualify for a special tournament hosted by Dougherty on the West Course in August. There is also a draw for all those who didn’t qualify whether they hold a handicap or not.
