Wilson Staff launch classic revamped blade irons

Liquid golf...

Is this the perfect golf club? Just look at it. Makes you want to put it in a glass case and sell tickets. Or just whip it out of the bag from 153-yards and hit the greatest shot of your life. Wilson Staff tip their cap to a classic with the new 2019 blades...

Did you know that Wilson has won more majors (61) than any other golf club manufacturer. If you did know then you're probably the kind of glorious golf geek that remembers the classic Wilson Staff blade which Wilson have paid tribute to with a revamped version for 2019.

And it's got off to quite a start with Gary Woodland winning the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui last week, debuting the prototype Staff Model irons. He also lead the field in Grens in Regulation with an impressive 87.5% for the four rounds.

The new blades have been created with considerable input from PGA Tour player Brendan Steele who has given his time and expertise to the project which has been two years in the making. One of the developments was to make a thinner top line at address, while also utilising a shape similar to the highly popular FG Tour 100 irons, with which Steele has won two PGA Tour titles.

The new blade retains the Fluid Feel Hosel construction which helps to move weight and enhance feel. The new Staff Model also has a milled face, providing players better control and feel. The forged 8620 carbon steel is combined with a high-polish mirror finish which gives these irons a superb, premium feel.

"To be able to provide my insight on the next generation of FG Tour 100 irons was an experience I'll never forget," sdaid Brendan. "We crafted the new Staff Model irons to have a similar look as the FG Tour 100s, which was vital as I continue to evaluate changes to my equipment."

If anything is going to inspire you to get your handicap down, this is surely it.

Available in the Spring, the Staff Model irons come fitted with True Temper Dynamic Gold Shafts and Golf Pride Tour Velvet Grips.

RRP £899/€1,099 (3-PW)
