Here's an ingenious solution for the range
Introducing the Golf Pro

This is an amazing gadget called Golf Pro. It does the dirty work so you'll always have a plentiful supply of balls on hand.
The designer actually might want to think about renaming it, as Golf Pro's are hardly going to be thrilled by the suggestion that this is what they do. But we like the idea.
Designed for driving ranges, this automated robot uses an intricate sensor system that detects the location of balls throughout the range.
The electric, dual–wheel unit can traverse different types of terrain from flat top grass to sand pits to retrieve balls from almost anywhere.
Could this be the end to the kids earning a bit of cash for clearning the range?
