Gmac off to great start

Keegan Bradley leads, some other folk are in second, third etc., including Shane Lowry of Ireland, but all we care about is how Graeme McDowell is doing. Gmac must be at The Open in July and we are cheering him all the way.

Our man shot an excellent 65, five under, and lies only two off the lead. Gmac needs to both finish in the top 10 and be one of the highest finishing players who have not already qualified for The Open. Come on Graeme, Royal Portrush beckons!!

Rory McIlroy shot an opening 67 and Shane Lowry sits one of the lead after a 64. Meanwhile world number Dustin Johnson had a day to forget and sits on one over, eight back from the leader. Johnson is in good company with the likes of Sergio Garcia, Bubba Watson and Zach Johnson also shooting one over 71s.
