At Farmfoods Par 3 Championship

Rugby World Cup winner and England legend Mike Tindall MBE is the latest sporting star to be added to a line-up of professional golfers and celebrities taking part in this year’s Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship.

The 84th edition of the event takes place between 8–11 August at Nailcote Hall, Warwickshire and tickets are free.

Tindall is making his debut at the Championships which brings together stars from the world of sport and entertainment. Joining Tindall at the course next month are BBC presenting duo Naga Munchetty and Dan Walker. Representing England on 75 occasions, the highlight of Tindall’s career undoubtedly came in 2003 as part of the England side that won the Rugby World Cup for the first time. He was an instrumental part of England’s 20–17 triumph over Australia and over the course of his 17–year career he was highly regarded as one of the best centres in the world game.

Tindall said: “I’m really looking forward to playing at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship for the first time. I am a big golf fan and can’t wait to test myself on the Nailcote Hall course.

“The four days promise to be great fun and I’m sure it will be extremely competitive with so many great players on show in both the pro and celebrity ams.”

As a World Cup winner, he is one of England’s sporting heroes and I can’t wait to see him tackle the course.”

Once again Farmfoods are the Headline Sponsors of the event and have donated €150,000 to the prize fund to ensure the very best golfers from around the country are attracted to the Championship with €50,000 on offer for the winner.

Leading brand agency Champions (UK) plc are back organising the event and Managing Director Matt Hayes said: “It is fantastic to get so many sporting icons on board for this year’s Championships and are delighted to welcome Mike Tindall to the event for the first time.”
