Great to see Rory McIlroy winning the Players Championship last week. Our selection Tommy Fleetwood led well into the final round but faded to finish 5th.

The Spiv is back with the inside track....The WGC World Match Play is one of my favourite events of the year. I love Match Play. The only problem is that there isn’t enough of it around on the Tour. This makes it difficult to place a bet. An out of form player with a strong competitive nature can easily win this one.

You can imagine how annoyed the Spiv was yesterday morning when he woke up to find out that Brandt Snedeker didn’t win the Sony Open after a play off. Gomez deserved it and well played, that man. But still managed Each Ways on Sneds and Kisner so on the whole...can’t grumble too much now can I?

All factors that are taxing The Spiv’s brain matter as he sips on his port and peruses the field. The PGA championship is the last major tournament of the season, soon to be followed by the Fed Ex play offs!! The career grand slam event only achieved by 5 golfers Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen, while Bobby Jones won a true golf grand slam in 1930.

What a great last day at the Open last Sunday, there were at least 12 possible winners with 6 holes to go and it's fair to say Tiger is back!!! The winner Francesco Molinari by 2 shots from Justin Rose but it was Tiger that had the crowd on its feet!!!
