Sam Burns romped to victory at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play with eight birdies on his final ten holes. Burns defeated Cameron Young, who had dramatically beaten Rory McIlroy in the semi-finals, by 6&5.
Kurt Kitayama held off the challenge of Rory McIlroy to claim the Arnold Palmer Invitational by a single shot. McIlroy had a chance to take it to extra holes but missed his 10-foot birdie effort on the 18th. American Kitayama birdied the 17th to reach nine under and a par on the last was good enough to claim his maiden PGA Tour win.
Matt Fitzpatrick held off the world's best to win his first major championship and become just the third Englishman in modern times to lift the U.S. Open trophy. Fitzpatrick shot a final round of two-under-par 68 to win by a single shot from Will Zalatoris and Scotty Scheffler.
Scottie Scheffler confirmed his status as world number one by claiming his first major title in the 86th Masters at Augusta National. The American had the luxury of being able to four-putt the last hole and still win by three shots from a late-charging Rory McIlroy. Scheffler closed with a 71 to finish at ten-under-par ahead of the charging McIlroy who lit up the course with a final round 64.
World number one Scottie Scheffler confirmed his position as world number one with a dominant performance on Friday at Augusta as Tiger Woods dug deep after a terrible start to make the halfway cut in the 86th Masters.
