Robert MacIntyre claimed an emotional maiden European Tour title at the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown, where a seven under final round 64 earned the Scot a one-stroke victory in a thrilling shoot-out finale. "When the rain delay came in there, I said to my caddie Mike, it’s time to show up. I hit a great iron shot into 15 and there it was. It turned up right at the right time."
The 32-man field for the third round of the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown will be finalised on Saturday morning after darkness suspended play on day two at Aphrodite Hills Resort. The 30 players still to complete their rounds will resume play early on Saturday.
Robert MacIntyre started the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown as he ended last week’s Cyprus Open, with a six under par 65 to take the lead after the first round at Aphrodite Hills Resort.
