Jason Day set to play in the Masters

As he practices at Augusta

Jason Day's Masters campaign appears to be back on course as he has been practicing at Augusta National this  weekend.

Day's withdrew from the WGC–Dell Match Play, and held an emotionally charged press conference where he  revealed that his mother Dening had been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Day flew Dening to his home in Columbus to undergo surgery on March 24 and she's now resting.

Day played nine holes at Augusta on Friday and another nine on Saturday, so it's looking likely that the World No 3 will be teeing it up in Augusta on Thursday.

Day said his focus was clearer after Dening "successfully underwent surgery".

"Obviously, we still have to wait to see (about) chemo but we feel much better about things," he said.

"I didn't even want to be on the golf course. It was a struggle for me to play golf."

Unless Dening's situation changes, it look like Day will make his seventh Masters appearance. It remains to be seen how focused he can be, but at least the news of his mother is positive.
