Justin Thomas breaks another PGA Tour record

The world's hottest golfer just got hotter

This guy has to be a favourite to scare the bejeezus out of the majors this year. A day after announcing himself as the youngest PGA Tour player to shoot 59, Justin Thomas set a new record for the lowest ever 36 hole score in a PGA Tour event.

The Waialae Country Club didn't know what hit it as the 23-year-old cruised to a six-under 64 in Friday’s second round of the Sony Open in Hawaii, to add to his opening sub-60 demolition job.

“I just felt like it was another round of golf and I need to try to build on my lead and see how low I could go today,” said JT.

Thomas is now an incredible -39 for his first 6 rounds of 2017. He won the SBS Tournament Of Champions last time out, and he's going to be very hard to catch here.

“It's definitely the best [golf] of my career,” said JT. “I definitely haven't shown the world my best golf. I haven't even shown the world great golf, or consistent, great golf.

“I think I'm getting more confident and I'm improving, too. I think I'm just trending up and hopefully -- wanting to show everyone in the world what I have.”

Trending up, eh? I must try that one day...
