GMac gets US PGA invite

Despite being out of the world top 100

Graeme McDowell has received an invitation to play in the US PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, despite being ranked 101st in the world, and therefore outside of automatic qualifying.

GMac is a former US Open winner, and he has been invited by the PGA of America, so he's clearly got some good friends in high places.

GMac has been struggling this season, and has missed four of his past five cuts, including the Canadian Open, where he missed it by seven clear shots.

He also missed out playing in The Open by virtue of only being ranked 101, so a visit to Quail Hollow and an unexpected shot at another Major must be a real boost to his season.
