LIV Golf: Majesticks GC Delivers ‘Little Sticks’ Community Impact Strategy

Scheme aims to create inclusive environment for disadvantaged young people

Majesticks Little Sticks Initiative

St Albans, Hertfordshire (July 5, 2023)– LIV Golf’s Majesticks GC, comprised of teammates Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, Ian Poulter, Laurie Canter, and Sam Horsfield, today announce the launch of the London initiative of their community impact strategy and headline program, Little Sticks.

The strategy sets out a long-term vision to make a positive difference in the communities where the players live, work, and compete, initially targeting Newcastle, Luton, and Orlando, FL. Little Sticks aims to connect young people through golf to help promote their physical health, mental well-being, and sense of belonging.

Majesticks GC is actively involving local stakeholders and listening to the needs of young people to develop tailored programs that maximize their impact. The strategy emphasizes long-term support for the communities to ensure sustained positive outcomes for young people.

The Little Sticks community impact strategy focuses on three main areas:

Education: Educate partner organizations on how to use golf as a means of supporting young people's development.

Engagement: Engage young people in regular activities to improve their physical health and mental well-being.

Empowerment: Empower young people to make positive decisions for themselves and their communities.

Majesticks GC will launch its Little Sticks initiative in collaboration with partner schools in Luton, including Chalk Hills Academy and Woodlands Secondary School. The partner schools will pilot the program by conducting weekly Little Sticks sessions starting in the Autumn term.

In addition, Majesticks GC and the Little Sticks program will have a prominent presence in the tournament Fan Village during the event, offering young fans numerous opportunities to participate in golf-related activities and learn more about the initiative.

"We are thrilled to launch Little Sticks in the UK and share our wider community impact strategy. This work is integral to our team's identity, and we are passionate about helping communities access the benefits of golf,” said Ian Poulter, co-captain of Majesticks GC. “By bringing golf to communities in a format and location that resonates with them, we aim to forge positive relationships with the game."

"This week at LIV London, we are showcasing how golf can be used to create a more inclusive society,” said Lee Westwood, co-captain of the Majesticks GC. “Young people from both mainstream and special schools are participating in the same activities, fostering the sense of community we aim to build through Little Sticks."
