Tommy Fleetwood's caddie drops a clanger

At the WGC-HSBC Champions

Tommy Fleetwood’s caddie dropped a clanger during the third round of the WGC-HSBC Champions when he failed to stop Tommy’s ball from going into the water.

Fleetwood was two under through13 holes at Sheshan International, and well in contention, just two behind shots behind Justin Rose.

But he put his third shot on the par-five 14th into the water.

Tommy had to take a penalty drop, which required his caddie, Ian Finnis, to try and catch the ball as it rolled back towards the water.

But Finnis missed the ball and had to watch it fall into the hazard.

Fleetwood managed to pitch on to the green, only to three-putt for a triple-bogey. He carded an even par 72 for the day, after shooting 68s on the first two days. He finished the tournament T7 with a final day 75.

But this might have been an important turning point in his performance.....
