Major deal for Jack Nicklaus

22 new courses for Vietnam

Phoenix Golf Resort, Vietnam. Not related to the Waste Management in any way, shape, or form.

Vietnam's BRG Group and Nicklaus Design have signed a deal to develop golf courses in Vietnam. The contract will see Nicklaus Design create courses in 22 different provinces of the country.

The first golf course will be an 18-hole golf course, branded Jack Nicklaus II, in BRG's Kings Island Golf Resort in Ha Noi's Son Tay District.

BRG and the Nicklaus Group have worked together before. The two side's projects include the Legend Hill Golf Resort and the Jack Nicklaus Academy, a golf training institution in Ha Noi's Soc Son District.

Golf has been growing fast in Vietnam, but this deal will really see an acceleration of the game in the country, which at the moment has about thirty courses in total, including Danang Golf Club, and the Montgomerie Links.

The Vietnam Golf Association was founded in 2007, and has over 5,000 members. But they are all pretty much expats. What this move is all about is making Vietnam a serious golfing destination for the whole of the Far East and Japan. It’s also on our list.

Jack back in the glory days.
