Jordan Spieth presents Royal Birkdale with signed 3 iron

From his dramatic 2017 Open victory

Jordan Spieth has presented Royal Birkdale with the three iron that won him the 2017 open.

Jordan hit a wild drive on the 13th, which resulted in a dropped shot, and a long delay.

We were holed up in the smallest pub in the UK at the time, so had to watch the unfolding drama on an iPhone. But it is a half hour that will stay in our memory forever.

Was it going to be a repeat of his 2016 Masters meltdown, or could he finish his dinner?

Spieth took a drop shot from an unplayable lie and it looked like he was heading for at least a double-bogey six.

But what followed was a shot that will undoubtedly become an iconic moment in Open history as Spieth secured a bogey with a stunning three-iron shot from the practice ground. He then steadied the ship and went on to win by three shots.

Royal Birkdale posted this on their Twitter account, with the accompanying message.
