Golf Spiv calls the Bridgestone Invitational

Here's where the value is

The Olympics have played havoc with the schedule as the WGC Bridgestone invitational comes forward to June rather than its traditional August date. With the French Open attracting the likes of Rory McIlroy and Danny Willett the field is not as spectacular as it once was. 16 players will make their debut at Bridgestone but rest assured Mr Day and Mr Spieth will be there.

Last year I correctly predicted that Shane Lowry would win at a price of 150/1 which shows how this tournament is anyone's. Reduced field, lack of stellar names, and excellent prices are all here for the taking. So here is who the Spiv is tipping for glory.

Brooks Koepka 22/1 (888)

Finished 6th here last year but has suddenly produced some excellent form. Two 2nd place finishes and a 13th in his last three events has made him one watch for this one. Expect Koepka to finish well.

Justin Rose 25/1 (PaddyPower)

Rose has a good history here. Five top fives from his 13 appearances make him a very strong candidate to win this one. Granted he can be a little hit or miss when it comes to bets but the Englishman has some competition for an Olympic place now.

Jim Furyk 33/1 (Coral)

Tipped him to do well at the US Open and finished 2nd. Furyk also has an excellent record here at Bridgestone. Seven top 10’s in his last 13 appearances including three top five finishes. He loves it here and looks like the Furyk of old following his injury. Expect him to challenge once more.

Danny Lee 90/1 (888)

Outsider of the week. Lee enters in rather patchy form but performed well on his debut at Firestone. A 6th place finish on a tough course. This kid can do it again. A good Each Way bet here.
