Dunvegan Hotel for sale

Iconic St Andrews venue on market for £3 million

The owners of the iconic Dunvegan Hotel have announced through social media that they are to sell the hotel.

Sheena and Jack Willoughby, the owners, announced: “It is time to smell the roses after a terrific 23 years and start the next chapter in our life together.”

The Dunvegan, sited on the corner of Pilmour and Golf Place, includes the Golfers Corner Pub and Claret Jug restaurant.

The property has gone onto the market for just under £3 million. The Dunvegan’s lounge bar is consistently named as one best 19th holes on the globe, has played host to over 30 major golf champions, including Arnold Palmer, Ernie Els, and Tiger Woods.

It has also welcomed everyone from Clint Eastwood and Sean Connery to former President George H W Bush, and astronaut Neil Armstrong.

Their decision offers an unrivalled opportunity to buy into a piece of Scotland’s golfing heritage  right at the centre of the sport’s iconic home – the hotel is just 112 yards from the Old Course.
