Andres Romero wins BMW International

As Garcia and Bland fade

Argentine Andres Romero picked up seven shots in his last ten holes to win the BMW International Open by one shot.

He shot a round of the day bogey–free 65 to finish at 17–under par, one ahead of Thomas Detry (66) and overnight leaders Sergio Garcia (69) and Richard Bland (69).

Detry had been leading but the big hitting Belgian could only look on as Romero finished with his seventh birdie.

Garcia's had his second bogey on the 16th hole, and Bland then followed suit with his second bogey on the 17th. Whilst both finished with birdies, it wasn't enough to catch Romero and his birdie–fest.
