59 alert!

Adam Hadwin shoots 59 at CareerBuilder

59 alert! Canada's Adam Hadwin shoots -13 under 59 at CareerBuilder Challenge to become only the eighth player in PGA history to make the magic 59.

And here's what his card looked like:

On the 18th he missed the green to the right, leaving himself with a tricky up and down, but he chipped close and left himself with a four–footer for a par and his 59.

The 29-year–old has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but he reeled off six consecutive birdies from the second hole as he made the turn in seven–under 29, and then crafted another five in a row from the 11th.

He narrowly missed out on a birdie at the 16th, but then struck an amazing approach shot to five feet at the parfour 17th and knocked in the putt to tie a PGA Tour record with his 13th birdie of the round.

His 59 saw him rocket up the leaderboard from a lowly 48th to 1st with a one shot lead over Dominic Bozzelli.

And he becomes only the eighth player to join the PGA Tour's 59 club.

His round of 59 was a whole four shots better than the next best score of the day, which belonged to South Korea's Whee Kim, who must have been thinking he'd been doing something right!

The 59ers:

Al Geiberger in 1977 was the first player to post 59 on the PGA Tour

Chip Beck (1991)

David Duval (1999)

Paul Goydos (2010)
