New for 2016... and it's got spikes!!

Ecco release The CageEcco are known for making some of the best shoes in golf. While more expensive than many of their competitors, people are willing to pay it as they are ridiculously comfy, and extremely hard wearing. In recent years they've concentrated on spikeless shoes, but new for 2016, Ecco release The Cage, their new tour level spiked golf shoe. We caught up with Ecco's Jesper Thuen to find out more about the shoes. Enter The Cage...

While it sounds like somewhere UFC fighters go to fight, the Cage is actually the latest golf shoe from the Danish experts. These latest spiked shoes feature a fully-integrated DiP wrap system that promotes superior walking comfort straight out of the box and for the life of the shoe.

So come on then, tell us how?

A unique, one-piece, DiP stability cage that wraps from the heel through the midsole and across the toe box.

An anatomical outsole design that aligns and moves in unison with the foot’s essential ligaments and muscles.

The Ecco Freedom Fit which marries a snug heel fit with a roomier forefoot area that allows toes to move naturally.

The Ecco Cage is fashioned from lightweight Caldera performance leather. Stain-resistant and easy-to-clean, this soft, supple full-grain cow hide is also exceptionally water-repellant via the proprietary Ecco HYDROMAX™ treatment.

The Ecco Cage is crafted at Ecco-owned factories using the Direct-injection Process. This bonds the upper and outsole unit, creating a one-piece shoe without the use of glue or stitching. Benefits include a firm, water-tight seal.

We can't wait to try them as traditionally Ecco are some of the comfiest shoes we've ever tried, on or off the course.

Ecco Cage Shoes retail at £170. Check out www.ecco.com
