Danny Willett, the defending champion, will be back at St Andrews next month trying to join an exclusive club of golfers who have won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship twice. Tyrrell Hatton, in 2016 and 2017, and Padraig Harrington, in 2002 and 2006, have had their names inscribed on the trophy on two occasions. Now 2016 Masters champion Willett will be hoping to match them.

Even though she didn’t become an LPGA Tour Member until 2014, Lydia Ko was winning events on Tour as early as 2012. On Sunday in the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio, Ko added win number seventeen to her mantel on the LPGA Tour. She becomes the first player to reach seventeen wins before the age of 25 since Nancy Lopez captured her 17th title in 1979.

On a tightly contested second day of the Dubai Moonlight Classic presented by EGA, Maria Fassi and Jessica Karlsson sit tied at the top of the leaderboard on ten-under-par.
