We’ve been studying the TPC Boston course, and have identified the 18th as the card wrecking Hell Hole. It will be interesting to see if we are proved right over the course of the competition. We also wanted to see if there was a softer side to the course. There wasn’t. But we do like the look of the par 3 11th.
This week’s action moves to the Deutsche Bank at the TPC Boston. The course was originally designed by Arnold Palmer and built in 2003, but was then redesigned by Gil Hanse and Brad Faxon, the PGA Tour Player, in 2007. Someone who really caught our eye this weekend at The Barclays from Plainfield Country Club was one Zac Blair. He finished tied 4th with Zach Johnson on -10 and nine shots off the winner Jason Day.
As Morrissey once sang, “Heaven knows I’m miserable now”. And as the heavens have opened, it’s chucking it down outside. When all we realy want to be doing is following a little white orb around a prepared field of grass with holes cut into it, making said orb disappear down a hole 18 times. But help is at hand as we’ve got some of the latest waterproofs for your perusal to help keep you dry when you want to let it fly…
Golf can be a serious business when it comes to having a positive effect on the economy. A new report from Sheffield Hallam University’s Sport Industry Research Centre reveals that the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles made a contribution of £106 million to the Scottish economy, which is pretty amazing for an event that’s in theory only three days long.
We only saw this late today on Twitter, and it certainly got our curiosity. Who was Dicky Pride, and what was his scrawled piece of paper all about? We loved it, retweeted it, and promised that we’d keep an eye on developments.
