New golfing experience offered at Verdura

With vineyards and ancient valleys

Golfers often whine about a trip to the golf course leaving their game in ruins, but they can forget all about their worries and immerse themselves in the many historical, cultural and gastronomic delights that Sicily has to offer by sampling one of Verdura Resort’s new ‘Golf Experiential Packages’.

A European Tour Destination and home of the Rocco Forte Sicilian Open, the resort offers award-winning golf on a grand scale and is also the ideal base to discover the many joys of the largest island in the Mediterranean.

Available until November 20, the new four-night breaks – which cost from €300 per person per night including VAT – not only include two rounds of golf (including buggies) on a choice of Verdura Resort’s two 18-hole championship courses – the East and West – but also offer the chance to immerse yourself in Sicily’s famous history and culture.

Guests can enjoy an exclusive wine tour including wine-tasting and lunch at Sicily’s most distinguished winery, Planeta, with the resort’s ‘Golf & Wine Package’. Alternatively, the opportunity to learn more about the island’s fascinating past awaits with the venue’s ‘Golf & Ancient Civilisation Package’ which features a guided visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Valley of the Temples – an exceptional historic testimony to Magna Graecia and a unique experience which ends with a walk on the stunning ‘Scala dei Turchi’ white rocks.

Sparkling wine, Verdura Societa Agricola olive oil, an exclusive Verdura Resort polo shirt and a welcome fruit basket are all included in the packages (which are based on two people sharing a room), together with accommodation in a Superior Deluxe room, daily American-style buffet breakfast, two three-course set menu dinners and private airport transfers.

Warmed by the Mediterranean sun and refreshed by the sea breeze, Verdura Resort has quickly risen to become one of Europe’s elite golf and lifestyle resorts. Designed by Kyle Philips, its golf courses offer uninterrupted views of the azure waters from the undulating greens.

The award-winning resort includes two 18-hole championship courses, a nine-hole, par-three layout and extensive practice facilities, with guests enjoying personal service and attention to detail more usually associated with a private club.

Situated on Sicily’s southern coast between Agrigento and the fishing city of Sciacca, an 80-minute drive from Trapani and Palermo airports, Verdura Resort features 203 rooms and suites, all with a sea view, as well as six villas which offer a perfect solution for family holidays, each with its own private swimming pool.

Away from the fairways, the resort features an array of other luxury sports and lifestyle facilities, while guests also have the opportunity to sample, on and off-site, a taste of the gastronomy, wine, history and culture that has made Sicily famous across the world.
