GolfPunk's Guide To Southport!

Make the most of your Birkdale Open visit!

The Open at Royal Birkdale is up and running and we are loving it! But for all of you GolfPunk's who have made the trip to Southport, we've found you the best spots in town.

Fish & Chips:

I think we can all agree, you can’t visit the seaside without making a visit to the local chippy. However, Southport is spoilt for choice when it comes to its selection of chip shops and we've picked nothing but the best.

Fylde Fish Bar is without a doubt a must, after being named the best in Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire.  Finding the multi-award winning chippy shouldn't be a problem, as it has two branches in Southport. One in Marshside and the other in Birkdale village itself, just opposite Birkdale Station.

Tea Rooms:

Situated on the famous Lord Street, Westminister Tea Rooms offer a relaxing environment to unwind after the golf. They offer coffee, tea and much more so the fun never stops. Go in and act like a local, slow down life and have some cake!

Amusements:

Southport has more to offer than just golf, as they offer a range of activities available for all ages. Here are a few we feel you should check out.

The first to make our cut is Silcocks Funland. It wouldnt be a trip to the seaside without a corny amusement park? Play the slot machines, collect all the tickets you can and you may just win some stickers if your lucky!

Next is Southport Pier. Based along the Promenade, this Grade 2 listed piece of infrastructure is the oldest iron pier in the entire country. After a 1.1Km walk, you're greeted by the wind, a cafe and an arcade that works using old penny’s. This iconic piece of Southport’s Coastline is tradition at its finest.

Last but not least is Genting Casino. Based opposite Silcocks Funland. This late–night venue offers all your favorite casino games including; American Roulette, Three Card Poker, Blackjack and Electronic Roulette. They offer facilities to eat, drink and relax so your never short of a good time.

Bars & Clubs:

After an exciting day at Royal Birkdale, where better to come than the GolfPunk Clubhouse to reflect and engage in conversation with other GolfPunk’s! We are located next to the Genting Casino on the Southport Waterfront. So what do we have going on?

- Open Bar

- Live Coverage of The Open all day

- Golf Simulator

- Giant Inflatable Chipping Challenge

- Live Entertainment

- Lots of Prizes to be Won

If you still want more golf or just somewhere to come for a drink then pop in as we are open till 2:00am all week!
