Ouch. Web.com golfer breaks putter in two

It's tough on tour...

Life can be hard on the Web.com Tour. You know you shouldn't really be there at all. You know you're better than this. So when you're aiming for one of the 25 Web.com Tour spots available to get you back where you belong, emotions run high.

On Thursday in the opening event of the finals, the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, at Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio, Peterson stumbled to a run of bogies, culminating in serious words with his putter at the par-4 15th hole.

Well, not so much words as extreme violence. He broke his putter in two and had to use his wedge for putting for the final 12 holes of his first round. And what do you know, things started to improve as he played those holes in one-over par with two bogeys and a birdie on his final hole of the day.

A 52-degree putter eh?
