Molinari takes lead at Wells Fargo

As DJ makes his comeback

Francesco Molinari shot a brilliant six under par 66 to take the elad at the Wells Fargo in North Carolina, but all eyes were on Dustin Johsnon as he made his comeback.

DJ was firm favourite to win the Masters until he did his back in on the eve of the tournament. Now the world number one is targeting the defence of his US open title in Wisconsin, June 15th.

"I hit the ball great and I felt good physically, no issues," Johnson said after carding a -2 round of 70.

"I just need to get some more rounds in, get some more reps, but I feel like the golf swing is in good shape. If I hit it like I did on Thursday over the next few days, I will be right there on Sunday."

"Evening..."

World number one Dustin Johnson "felt good physically" after making his return to competitive action at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Johnson, who was the only top-10 player in the field in North Carolina, is chasing four consecutive wins on the PGA Tour. If he does it this week,he will become the first player since Tiger Woods in 2007-08 to achieve the feat.

He added: "Since I had not played in so long I am happy with the way I played. I did not score that great, did not hole many putts. I felt like I hit good putts, just nothing was going in. All in all I am very pleased with the day."
