9 Birdies in a row for Bernd Wiesberger

And it's NOT European Tour Record!

Wowzers. Just wowzers. Bernd Wiesberger just made 9 consecutive birdies at the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpar... Here's his unbelievable scorecard and you can meet the man here, well, just down below the scorecard.

Bernd equalled the PGA Tour record of 9 straight birdies made by Mark Calcavecchia at the 2009 Canadian Open.
Wiesberger’s run of nine consecutive birdies is the first time in European Tour history that a player has recorded nine consecutive birdies in the same round. Sadly, being preferred lies, it will not go into the record books as official. Eight is the current record.
The longest run of consecutive birdies is 11, across two rounds. Jose Maria Canizares, in the 1978 Swiss Open, had five birdies in a row at the end of round two and opened up with 6 in round three. Also Brian Barnes in the 1994 Tenerife Open did the same thing as Canizares.
