14-year-old becomes youngest ever tour winner

KABOOM!!! 14-year-old amateur Atthaya Thitikul has become the youngest known winner of a professional golf tour event with victory at the Ladies European Thailand Championship.

Unfortunately, due to her amateur status, Thitikul is not eligible for the 45,000 euros prize money (£40,000) - so Mexican Menendez will receive the top prize, and I'm sure at least buy Thitikul a celebratory kebab.

She said: "It makes me feel very happy and so proud of myself. This trophy, I give to Thailand and the Thai people.

"My family do not play golf. When I was younger, aged six, my father told me to play sport and he offered tennis or golf and I watched golf on TV and I liked it."

Brooke Henderson had held the previous record, winning an event on the Canadian Women's Tour in June 2012 aged 14 years, nine months and three days. Move over grandma!

Amy Boulden finished tied for fourth after a 73.
