Springs Golf Club in Henley up for sale

Yours for £1.75 million

Springs Golf Club in Oxfordshire is now on the market. The golf club is being offered for sale by the family who built the Club in 1998, and is an ideal leisure lifestyle purchase if you are up for a change, and have a spare £1.75 million to hand.

The Springs Golf Club is situated between Goring, Henley on Thames and Wallingford within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in South Oxfordshire. Central London is c. 75 minutes from the Club, Heathrow c. 50 minutes.

Set in c. 54 hectares the Club’s facilities include a Brian Huggett designed 18 hole 6,470 yard (par 72) USGA specification golf course; an attractive timber frame two storey clubhouse; golf practice facilities; and a former 15 bed staff accommodation block that offers potential for a wide range of uses.

The course is laid out in former parkland, with the 15th hole playing along the banks of the River Thames.

The Springs’ tranquil location within the Chilterns AONB is one of its many attractions, yet the Club also enjoys a highly affluent trading location, with c. 500,000 resident population within 30 minutes’ drive.

The sale is being handled by Ben Allen Director in Retail, Hotels and Leisure at Bilfinger GVA who commented: “The Springs Golf Club is a very attractive property and is an ideal acquisition for a lifestyle purchaser. Originally part of a larger golf hotel facility, the Club is being offered to the market in isolation as it is anticipated that the hotel will be converted for residential use. This profitable golf course offers scope for commercialisation and will undoubtedly benefit from a more hands on approach that the new owners are likely to bring to the business. We have already received a good level of interest in the Club.”
