Rickie Fowler scoops unusual award

As No I ‘Ten Best- mannered People’ in the world

Rickie Fowler is No. 1 in the world ranking of 'Ten Best-Mannered People,' according to the National League of Junior Cotillions.

So how did Rickie achieve this accolade? Well, this is the mission statement of the Junior Cotillions.

“To act and learn to treat others with honour, dignity and respect for better relationships with family, friends and associates and to learn and practice ballroom dance.”

Ballroom dancing? I don’t think Rickie’s been any where near Strictly yet, but he’d be a great asset to the show.

But if you are asking, a cotillion is a social dance that was popular in 18th Century Europe and America – and clearly has a following to this day in the USA.

On Tuesday, the NLJC named Fowler No. 1 in its annual list of the “Ten Best-Mannered People.”

Fowler was honoured “for consistently well-mannered conduct both on and off the golf course,” according to the NLJC news release.

He finished ahead of Aly Raisman, Deshaun Watson, Joanna Gaines, Sadie Robertson, David Beckham, Selena Gomez, Thomas Rhett, Matt Kuchar and Meghan Markle.

“The selections are made based on each person’s commitment to honour, dignity, and mannerly conduct,” NLJC President Charles Winters said.

“We feel these ten individuals have distinguished themselves through excellence of character and conduct and applaud them for their contributions to society.”

Nice one Rickie. That’s another one for the trophy cabinet. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer chap.
