Parkie weighs in

To Wentworth row

Parkie, sorry Sir Michael Parkinson, has weighed into the Wentworth debate, and is accusing the new owners of ignoring the traditions of the club and wanting to create a club for the “super rich” with a “car park full of Lamborghinis”.

Sir Michael has told the Daily Telegraph:

“They [Reignwood] came in without any regard for the traditions or feelings of members of the club and tried to assume everybody would just go away quietly. They have misunderstood the nature of the club."

This is just the latest intervention in the row between Wentworth members and Reignwood, which was escalated last week with a fifteen page legal writ from the members campaign group, led by Nigel Moss.

I know some of our readers are less than impressed by what they see as an existing elite simply being trumped by a new elite, but we do have some fellow feeling for the existing members. We wouldn't like to be booted off our own manor for sure.

But here's a nice Lamborghini to feast your eyes on. We can't find a shot of a carpark full of them, so this will have to do.
