After 5 rounds of matchplay on final day

Kiradech Aphibarnrat has won the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 after playing five rounds of matchplay on the final day.

On Saturday, Aphibarnrat had to go up the 18th four times to eventually secure a place in the in the 24 man matchplay format, but the effort was to prove worthwhile.

On Sunday he played five rounds of matchplay – a total of 35 holes – to claim his fourth European Tour title at the Karrinyup Country Club.

He had wins over Ben Eccles, Yusaku Miyazato Sean Croker and Lucas Herbert to reach the final, where he took on Australia’s James Nitties.

He lost the first hole to the local favourite, before cruising to victory with an eagle and two birdies to secure his first title since 2015.
