GP Cover Stars At The US Open

Laura Davies and Lexi Thompson lead the charge after even par opening rounds of 70 to finish day one in 18th place, four shots behing the leader, American Marina Alex. 

England's Charley Hull had a decent opening round, finishing five shots back at +1.

Maria Balikoeva recovered from three early bogies, going into day two in 60th place at +2, alongside defending champion Michelle Wie and Spaniards Beatrice Recari and Belen Mozo.

Suzann Pettersen slumped to a nine over 79 and Natalie Gulbis had an absolute shocker, shooting four doubles and four bogies for a +11 finish.
