Golf set to stay in Olympics until 2024

According to IOC source

According to a report from the Guardian, it appears that the game's tenure as an Olympic sport is about to be extended.

A source at the International Olympic Committee told the Guardian that it would be "very surprising" if golf isn't on the list of sports for the 2024 Games. The decision is expected to be announced early in 2017.

Golf was only guaranteed a spot in 2016 and 2020. This is obviously encouraging news that it will last past this test run, especially since the International Golf Federation is expecting to draw a better field than it had in Rio for the 2020 event at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Japan.

A site for the 2024 Games has yet to be determined. The three finalists for hosting are Los Angeles, Paris, and Budapest.
