Fish and Chips

Thorpeness GC teams up with Fishing Trip company

Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel has teamed up with East Coast Fishing Trips of Lowestoft to offer golf and sea fishing breaks on Suffolk’s Heritage Coast.

The new ‘Fish and Chipping’ break is now available all year round on a one or two night basis, with unlimited golf, a day fishing trip in the North Sea, dinner, bed and breakfast staying in its 36-bed golf hotel.

Brad McLean, general manager at Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel, said: “We’re excited to be partnering with East Coast Fishing Trips to offer golfers a unique and exciting way to discover the Suffolk Coast when they finish their rounds.

Suffolk abounds with beautiful golf courses and breath-taking coastline, which is why ‘Fish and Chipping’ breaks make perfect sense whether visitors are discovering the county for the first time or returning year after year.”

The trips are aimed at groups and require a minimum of four people to secure a voyage with East Coast Fishing Trips.

A two-night golf and fishing break at Thorpeness Golf Club and Hotel costs £290 in high season (June to September) and includes two-nights B&B, dinner on one evening, unlimited golf and off-shore fishing available between 8.30am and 5pm.

Thorpeness golf course was designed by five-time Open Champion James Braid and opened in 1923. It is located in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is consistently rated among the five best golf courses in Suffolk.
