Dalai Lama has never seen Caddyshack

Fox News host Bret Baier asked the Dalai Lama if he'd ever seen Caddyshack. In the film, Bill Murray claims to have caddied for the Dalai Lama. The Tibetan spiritual leader actually plays badminton.

In a disappointment for Caddyshack fans, we have learnt that the Dalai Lama has never seen Caddyshack, and prefers badminton to golf.

We would have thought that the Dala Lama had the perfect temperament for golf, so it’s a shame he doesn’t swing the wrenches.

Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, stopped by Fox News for a debriefing after meeting with President Barack Obama to discuss human rights and climate change.

But, Fox anchor Brett Baier had far different topics for discussion.

Bret Baier: Last thing, have you ever seen the movie Caddyshack?

Dalai Lama: What?

Baier: Caddyshack, the movie.

Dalai Lama: I don’t know.

Baier: The part about the Dalai Lama. Have you ever played golf?

Dalai Lama: No.

Baier: You’re not a big hitter?

Dalai Lama: In badminton.

Baier: But not golf?

Dalai Lama: No.

Baier: There’s a classic movie called Caddyshack where they talk about the Dalai Lama.

Dalai Lama: I see.

Baier: I had to ask you about it.

Dalai Lama: I don’t know.

Baier: Well thank you very much for the time.
