At last Tiger Woods commits to a PGA Tournament

But don’t hold your breath….

Tiger at Riviera in 2006.

At last Tiger Woods has committed to play golf at a PGA Tour event. But don’t hold your breath, as the tournament won’t take place until 2017!

The PGA Tour designated the Tiger Woods Foundation a host organization for the tournament at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for my foundation,” Woods said through his foundation’s website. “This is the first PGA TOUR event I ever played, and it means a lot to contribute to a community that has supported me and my foundation for more than 20 years. I’m committed to playing in my foundation’s events, and it will be exciting to return to Riviera.”

It is now seven months since Tiger competed when he played at the Wyndham Championship. And it was all going so well until he blew up on the par four 11th with a triple bogey 7. Ouch! Even the CBA cameras stopped following him after that.

He has undergone two back surgeries since then, but released a tantalizing video of him hitting balls in a simulator.

So all we really know is that he will be back in 2017. The Riviera event is normally played in February, which is still 10 months away….patience mon braves.
