adidas Golf Signs Young Stars Matthew Jordan and Lorenzo Scalise

adidas Golf continues to bolster its roster of young athletes. Today, adidas announced the signing of two of Europe’s rising stars in golf, Matthew Jordan and Lorenzo Scalise, to multi-year contracts. Jordan and Scalise will both wear adidas apparel and footwear on and off the course.

A Liverpool native, Jordan ends his amateur career as the No. 5-ranked player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, the highest ranked golfer from the United Kingdom. His stellar 2017 included seven top-10 finishes, a win at the illustrious St. Andrews Links Trophy, and a selection to the Great Britain & Ireland Team for the 2017 Walker Cup.

2018 has been no different. Jordan notched five top-5 finishes, including a victory at the Lytham Trophy by nine shots. He also competed for England at the World Amateur Team Championships. He looks to take his game to the next level.

“I’m so pleased to sign with adidas Golf,” said Jordan. “adidas has supported me throughout my amateur career with England Golf and I’m delighted to carry on representing them as a pro. It’s such an amazing brand and I’m honoured to be with them.”

The young Italian from Milan, Scalise ends his amateur career ranked 23rd in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. He played four years at the University of Tennessee in the United States, receiving second team All-American honors this year. 2018 also included Scalise competing at the Arnold Palmer Cup for Team Europe and for Team Italy at the World Amateur Team Championship, leading the Italians to a fifth-place finish and eighth in the individual standings. Many believe he’s the future of Italian golf.

“I’m very excited and honored to be part of the adidas Golf family,” said Scalise. “I look forward to representing the brand both on and off the course. It’s a real privilege.”

“Both Matthew and Lorenzo are world-class players who are at the forefront of a new wave of great young golfers in Europe,” said Matt Blackey, senior manager, sports marketing, adidas Golf. “They embody the creator mindset we have at adidas and we’re looking forward to supporting them as they begin their professional careers.”

Jordan will make his professional debut this week at the KLM Open on the European Tour. Scalise will play his first event as a professional at the Kazakhstan Open this week on the European Challenge Tour.
